Birthday Travel Idea
Here is an article that highlights the essence of a good Birthday Travel Idea.
Travel As a Gift
By Francina Smit
"What an outrageous thought!" you may be thinking to yourself. I for one would absolutely Love to get the gift of Travel if I could just find the person willing to give it to me! Dream on, dream on. Or not?
What a Birthday Travel Idea!
Let me explain. We just returned from Italy where a friend's daughter got married in a villa in Tuscany. Just outside Florence to be exact. An absolutely idyllic and romantic setting not to mention the Palazzo they got married in but I will save that for another time. As a wedding gift the father of the groom gave them a two week Cruise of the Greek Islands worth $5000 (nice dad right?)
Anyway, they returned after the two weeks and had a great time. Could not stop talking about it and how much they enjoyed it. They just dream of traveling more, like most of us and although it was a beautiful honeymoon that they will never forget, it occurred to me that the $5000 the dad spent on the cruise is now just pictures in an album and memories that will last for a lifetime. Two weeks come and gone. Over and done with, even though it was worth every penny. Would it not have been a better idea to give them a package they could use to travel World Wide for the rest of their lives for almost half the price? Like a Perpetual Gift. The gift that keeps on giving. For life. As often as they can or want to use it.
Why this is agreat Birthday Travel Idea!
This gift could also be given to other people to use up to 3 times per year. Maybe to friends who have an anniversary but can't afford to get away and desperately need to or to a favorite grandma who always wanted to travel but never had the opportunity or later for the children to use during Spring Break. Maybe not such a good idea! You and your spouse could buy a package together for your 50th birthdays to enjoy until the end of your days. Or even for a special anniversary. Anyway, you get the idea. I suppose I'm always looking for the best possible value for money especially with rising gas prices that affects everything we do and after all travel is a luxury. Or is it?
